Greenfire Development is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, the nation’s foremost coalition promoting environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. The USGBC oversees the LEED Green Building Rating system. It’s the “green standard.”
This means Greenfire Development strives to:
- Design our building systems to increase their energy and water efficiency
- Minimize waste when we renovate a building by re-using everything we can
- Develop projects within pedestrian access to entertainment, jobs, services and public transit
- Develop projects served by municipal recycling programs
- Maximize the percentage of rooms in a building that have windows to bring in natural daylight
- Choose building materials from sustainable and recycled and recyclable sources
- Seek out environmentally friendly paints and varnishes
